ESET security review
For the price ESET’s suite is among of the best. Its malware detection rate is close to perfection, and the suite packs a nice collection of extra features in a compact footprint. The Android click for more package comes with a theft prevention feature to help you find your lost phone. The premium version comes with parental controls, a secure browser as well as a passcode manager. The network protection features such as a firewall and the option of scanning home devices for vulnerabilities, are also beneficial.
SysInspector is a standout program. It makes a snap and highlights important Registry entries and running processes. It’s a bit daunting for newbies, but if you’re used to advanced task management tools like those found in the Sysinternals process Explorer, you’ll be at familiar.
Another fantastic feature is the possibility of scheduling scans on-demand. This is a good alternative to real-time protection and it’s fast and easy to do. It’s a pity ESET does not group it with other scheduling tasks, and its UI makes this somewhat harder to find than some of their competitors.
The password manager is user-friendly and comes with numerous features. It’s a robust form filler and is suitable for online banking. The password manager is available only in the premium version and requires an ESET account, however it works as well as the standalone solutions I’ve tested.
